Ever since Baba heard the first Kiss alive album at age 10, he wanted to play guitar. He and his neighborhood friends would build cardboard guitars and with the help of a record player, put on "KISS Concerts" on the driveway. His neighbor/babysitter at the time had been playing guitar for a number of years and would show Baba basic chords and techniques. Baba was a quick study, joining his first band at age 12 and performing a whole set of music at his middle school's Fun Fair in front of hundreds of people. At age 13, still in middle school, he joined a band with older high school kids that were of driving age, and played his first paying gig at the Silver Palace, (quite like a Chuck E Cheeses).
He then went on to play with other High School peers, on stage and in the studio, writing and recording original music on guitar, bass, and keyboards, and singing backup vocal harmonies. Baba was also picked to play guitar for his High School's rendition of Jesus Christ Superstar. After High School, Baba tried to "make it big" and played guitar and bass in a few bands on the local original scene. Frustrated with the music climate at the time, he decided to pursue stardom on the local level instead. He would end up first playing bass for a friend's band who played the local college campus circuit for a short time.
Baba then formed his first cover band, Frontline. Between 1993-1997, Frontline attracted record numbers at local area bars, and played picnics and private parties. They disbanded in 1997, and Baba would move on to form his next project, Area 51, which was a young, aggressive band who moved quickly into some of the top bars in the area, and garnered a lot of respect from other bands in the region. Due to an illness in the band, they could no longer perform , so Area 51 was short lived. Very soon after Baba got a call from Animal House because they needed a lead guitarist. He joined and would go on to have a very busy schedule with Animal House for a couple of years, playing all the top spots between PA and NJ, down to Maryland. The band was so busy in fact, that Baba decided he wanted to take a break and leave the band. Animal House did call Baba for future important gigs, such as performing on a national "stump the band" contest show on VH-1 called "Cover Wars", and to play with Sammy Hagar for a promotional show at Trump Marina Casino in Atlantic City.
After playing with a couple of other bands of note, such as Freefall and Wicked Cricket, Baba concluded that his talents would best fit a band known as Bigg Romeo. After some begging, crying, and whining, they agreed, and the rest is history.
